Good work starts
below the surface.

A smooth finish depends on thoughtful preparation. We work across all aspects of plastering, discussing the condition of the walls and ceilings, access and the result you want before quoting.

Plaster repairs & patching

A damaged corner, a stripped wall or a patch left by other work can hold up the decorating. We can assess the existing plaster and discuss making good, preparation and how the repair will meet the surrounding surface.

Walls, ceilings & full rooms

For a room refresh or renovation, discuss the walls and ceilings together. The condition of the background determines the preparation: whether it is sound enough for a skim finish, needs repairs or calls for plasterboard before finishing.

After damp-related work

If damp has affected a wall, the source and condition of the surface come first. The materials and drying time need to suit the property before final decoration. Our damp proofing and plastering experience connects those stages.

Preparation & protection

Tell us about loose plaster, old coatings and any damp. Agree who clears the room, removes wall coverings and moves fittings, along with floor protection and waste removal. Good access gives the work room to happen.

What affects the price

Wall and ceiling area, surface condition, boarding, corners, reveals and access all affect the work involved. Photos and rough room dimensions help start the conversation; the quote should set out the preparation and finish.

Drying & decoration

Allow time between plastering and decorating. Drying varies with the materials, thickness and room conditions. Ask us about aftercare for your walls, then follow the plaster and paint manufacturers’ advice on preparation and first coats.

Plastering
FAQs.

Do you take on small plaster repairs?

Yes. We offer plastering from small repairs through to full rooms. Send a description of the work and your postcode for a free quotation.

Can you plaster over a damp wall?

The cause of moisture and the condition of the wall need to be understood first. Plastering over an unresolved damp problem can leave the underlying issue in place.

When can I decorate after plastering?

Drying depends on the finish, thickness and conditions in the property. We will discuss aftercare for the actual work; avoid relying on a fixed number of days for every room.

Will I get a quotation before work starts?

Yes. Quotations are free and without obligation. You can discuss preparation, the finish and the agreed scope before deciding to go ahead.

Can an existing wall be skimmed?

It depends on how sound the plaster, paint and underlying surface are. Loose or unsuitable coatings need attention first. Send us photos to discuss whether preparation and skimming or a more substantial repair would suit the wall.
